⁠​​⁠ Wedge Classic. His board’s like 7’ (to judge the wave face at takeoff) that basically leaves him (check his arms) in the “air drop” until he lands before the bottom turn. The water in front sucks out to 6 INCHES folks! You fall, you feel it, plus the wave from on top pile drives you, if you misjudge the kickout. The very gritty sand gets into every pore & even your gums when (not if) you hit bottom (note how he’s protecting his neck from the inevitable). You need to put all that out of mind before stroking in so your total being is only about making the wave. Watch where he’s looking in stop-action or slo-mo.
