This day at Teahupoo- Aug 27th 2011 during the Billabong Pro waiting period is what many are calling the biggest and gnarliest Teahupoo ever ridden. Chris Bryan was fortunate enough to be there working for Billabong on a day that will go down in the history of big wave surfing. The French Navy labeled this day a double code red prohibiting and threatening to arrest anyone that entered the water.
Kelly Slater described the day by saying “witnessing this was a draining feeling being terrified for other people’s lives all day long, it’s life or death. Letting go of that rope one time can change your life and not many people will ever experience that in their life.”

Slow motion surfing is soooo boring
Doing this isnt something you just go out and try for fun. These guys that surf these kind of waves are pros or are really really good surfers. Even the average surfer shouldnt do this. These guys train for this stuff ! But i must say after body boarding my little 3/4 waves in Huntington Beach CA . This is insane because , I got tossed from those little waves. This would kill me ! lol

As I watch this video, I am reminded that I will never realize my boyhood dream of surfing. I have severe arthritis now, and my ankles and knees are weak.

That triple lip monster slab about a minute in was a mutant wave from hell..dont know how those dudes balls fit in there boardshorts when they get towed into tsumamis like that..much respect.
