It is the same general shape and size, has the same ports on the back, and generally seems to work the same, and after about a year or so it is cheaper to buy than rent. Installation on Xfinity was painless… just plug it in, wait 10 minutes for the device initialize fully, and connect to the wireless network with the provided credentials on the side of th modem. Once you try to navigate to any web page, you’ll be redirected to the Xfinity modem registration page.
